Forever Broken - Evangeline Anderson Not a bad vampire/werewolf love story. I think if the author had left out the french and spanish terms/slangs, this story would have been so much better for me.
Learning To Feel - N.R. Walker This was a free read and I read that this started as a fanfiction and I have to say that for me it was better than a lot of books out there that you pay for. I really enjoyed these two and loved Bentley. I realize that the plot of gfy and instant attraction has been done over and over again, maybe it was just my mood and the timing of when I read it, but for me it was perfect. It could have done with less sex scenes, but thoroughly enjoyable and I really liked that we got a complete story with a progression of years and of course, a great happy ending.
Elements of Retrofit - N.R. Walker 4.5 Stars

Well that's two really good stories in a row. I really hope this is a trend that will continue.

This was a great read with fun banter and sexy moments with these two. Even though there was a large age difference and it bothered Tom more, it still worked. I liked that there was not a whole lot of angsty drama, even with Ryan and it all worked out so well. Great chemistry and a very romantic and believeable story. Looking forward to the next one.
The Magpie Lord - K.J. Charles First, for those out there who may be like me and really don't like or read historical books, do not let that stop you from reading this one. While it may have a historical setting, it really didn't feel like it and you are so caught up with the story that for me at least, was not an issue at all. Thank you Vio for recommending it knowing how I feel about historical books.

This is a very fast moving story which grips you from the beginning and doesn't let go until the very last page. I just loved Crane so much, his comments and humor just made you fall in love with him. Although Stephen is described as bland and unattractive, his whole persona just changes that and shows, especially for Crane that looks are not everything. These two really fit well together. This was really an exceptional story with great characters and a very, keep you on your toes mystery/magic storyline. It was really not what I expected and I am so glad that I read it. Can't wait for the next book.
Strength of the Wolf (The Tameness of the Wolf, #2) - Kendall McKenna 3.5 stars

I was really looking forward to this story coming out because I loved the first one and did a quick re-read before starting this one. I really enjoyed that the author still included Noah and Lucas and we got to see them again and they were still part of this story. I was a little disappointed with this one, I guess I was expecting the sexual tension that we had in the first one. It was almost 80% into the first story before Noah and Lucas actually sleep together. With this one, Tim and Jeremy basically jumped into bed immediately and while there was still a story happening (a couple of stories actually), the majority of their relationship from the beginning was sex scenes, these two were hot together, it just seemed too much and I started skipping my way through. I wanted to find out more about Jeremy and even more about Tim. I got glimpses and pieces of both their lives, but it made me have more questions than when I started. While the characters were the same, and the general military storyline, I just didn't have the same feelings that I had with the first book. However, despite all of it, I am still glad I read the story, got to see Noah and Lucas again and will read the next one when it comes out.
Make Mine a Bad Boy - Carolina Valdez Not a bad read, but I think it just needed to be a little longer and it would have been better.

Bite Me Tender - Kate Lowell This was an interesting spin on shifters and I liked that a witch was also part of the pair. I would have really enjoyed learning more about them and how they came together. The pieces that we got of their past seemed like it would make a real interesting story. I would like to see a continuation of this world, but really don't want Connor to be put with Glyn and Levi, not because I don't like m/m/m story lines, I just don't want him with them. Love grandma, I can just imagine how much more havoc she could have created.
My Cowboy Heart - Z.A. Maxfield The beginning of this story was slow for me and it took a little bit to get interested in the characters. For me there was not an instant love with either of the main characters, but as the story progresses I began to enjoy them more and more. This is a very slow progressing romance and while Mallory may have never been with a man before, I wouldn't really consider it a gfy/ofy type book. It was more of a realization that gender didn't matter when it came to matters of the heart. The love that grows between these two is so sweet and was a great journey as it unfolded.
The Meet - William Cooper 2.5
The Good Wolf - Meredith Russell DNF - 20%
The Ranch Foreman - Rob Colton I wasn't going to read this one, but it ended up on my e-reader and I randomly picked it. I really didn't like Baxter, he was an ass and I felt that he did nothing but walk all over Matty throughout the book and treated him like crap. I understand that he was deeply in the closet, etc., but it didn't make it right and I kind of wished Matty wasn't so wishy washy when it came to him. However, without that of course we wouldn't have had a story. The writing was good and that is probably why I continued to read as much as Baxter annoyed me. I believe that if the author had made Baxter a little more likeable or given us his perspective and what he was really feeling, it would have been so much better.

On a side note, and just my opinion, when you have a character like Baxter who is a hard ass and gruff throughout the book, having him all of sudden say "honey" or "babe" just is so out of character that for me it becomes annoying. Just doesn't fit.
A Little Bit Country - S.J. Frost I don't know how I missed the first one when it came out, but really glad that I got to read when it was now a full story. I really loved this one and the characters. Yes, for some people this would probably be considered a sappy little story. For me, it was a fluffy, angst free story that I really enjoyed.
From the Ashes - Daisy Harris 2.5 stars

I think I was expecting more from this book, I was definitely expecting hot firefighters and while that was Tomas' occupation, that was all I got and I wanted more. The story of Jesse and Tomas was alright, the story, for me at least was missing chemistry between them. Everything just happened at such a fast pace, that there was just no development or progression in their relationship, they went from strangers to living together within a couple of pages it felt like. There were just all these little things thrown in, but not really developed. Tomas' feelings on being gay, his brother and why he was like he was, Jesse's parents (that whole Christmas visit was just weird) and a couple of more. I ended up with more questions of why at the end of the story, but unfortunately not enough to really care at that point. Sadly, this book didn't work for me.
